The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition, Inc. is a collaboration of 9 counties in Northwest Georgia whose vision is to build a national model of comprehensive rural cancer control. Our mission is to develop exemplary cancer related education, communications, prevention, early detection, treatment and research programs.

- Prevention and Screening (early detection, diagnosis)
- DCH/Northwest Georgia Breast Cancer Screening Fund
- DHR/Northwest Georgia Colorectal/Prostate Cancer Awareness Programs
- Chattooga County Screening Project – a medically underserved county project to encourage screening and promote awareness
- Health Initiative for Men – Annual event to target primarily African American Men for Prostate Cancer Awareness including lectures, digital rectal exams, and public service announcements along with a wide variety of other health screenings.
- Community Soup Kitchen Health Fair – Annual event targeting lower socio-economic, medically underserved in Floyd and surrounding counties
- Hispanic/Latino Health Fair in Dalton – Annual event which sees around 3,000 each year.
- Ladies Night Out – Annual Walker County health fair event which targets all women and their health needs, including screenings.

- The Georgia Cancer Quality Information Exchange/Lung Cancer Project - Harbin Clinic, Floyd Medical Center, Redmond Regional Medical Center are demonstration partners with Georgia Cancer Coalition, focusing on lung cancer in a pilot project to develop a system for measuring the quality of cancer care. Rome's high lung cancer rate and other factors --including the unique grouping of Harbin, Floyd and Redmond as private, public and national health care representatives helped establish the area as this demonstration site for "The Exchange."
