The Promise of Collaboration: 2008 Research Symposium of the Georgia Cancer Coalition

The goal of the 2008 Research Symposium was to provide a forum to exchange ideas, information, and best practices to further collaborative efforts to combat cancer in Georgia. The participation of cancer experts, caregivers, educators, researchers, administrators, and business and civic leaders ensured a unique approach to fighting cancer in Georgia.

The Georgia Cancer Coalition was proud to convene this Symposium and showcase its commitment to mobilizing Georgia and immobilizing cancer by advancing initiatives firmly grounded in science, leveraging public-private investments, and evaluating results. The mission of the Georgia Cancer Coalition is to reduce the number of cancer deaths in the state and ensure that Georgia becomes a national leader in cancer control by accelerating prevention, early detection, treatment, and research.

Thanks to those who participated in The Promise of Collaboration: 2008 Research Symposium of the Georgia Cancer Coalition. Each professional wields a critical piece in this fight against cancer – research, sponsorship dollars, and patient treatment and care that play integral roles in the effort to eradicate this disease. Together, we will continue to work toward a cure.
