President, Georgia Cancer Coalition
William J. Todd has been President and CEO of the Georgia Cancer Coalition since 2003. A strategic public-private initiative to move Georgia to the leading ranks of cancer care in the nation, the Coalition has invested more than $300 million supporting research and prevention efforts to reduce cancer deaths. Todd’s 38-year career has focused on healthcare and technology management in Georgia. He was the founding president of the Georgia Research Alliance in 1990, nurturing the independent not-for-profit organization that has helped build Georgia’s reputation as a center for discovery and invention and fostered major advances in science, medicine and technology. He founded Encina Technology Ventures in 2000. His career began at Emory University hospitals, clinics, and the medical school, where he held a variety of administrative posts over two decades, ultimately serving as Assistant Vice President for Medical Administration at the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center. A 1971 graduate of the College of Management at Georgia Institute of Technology, Todd attended the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. In 2000, he received an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland. Todd is Board Chairman of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and a Board member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the American Cancer Society, the Georgia Tech Foundation, and Georgia Tech Ireland. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and a member of the Commerce Club, 191 Club, and Druid Hills and East Lake Golf Clubs. A fourth generation Atlantan, he has been named one of the “100 Most Powerful and Influential People in Georgia” by Georgia Trend for six years. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, both Georgia Tech graduates. Hayes is senior project engineer with Holder Construction Company, and David is a supply chain engineer with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Vice President and CFO
Alan C. Wills currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Georgia Cancer Coalition. He was named to this position in February 2006. Immediately prior to joining the Coalition, Wills served as the Director of Finance for Dekalb Regional Health System in Decatur, Georgia. Dekalb Regional Health System is a not-for-profit comprehensive health care delivery system that is comprised of Dekalb Medical Center (a 500+ bed general acute care hospital), Decatur Hospital (a 100 bed long-term care hospital, and Dekalb Medical Center at Hillandale (a 100 bed general acute care hospital). Wills has also served as the Vice-President of Finance for Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. Grady Health System is a not-for-profit comprehensive health care delivery system that includes the operation of Grady Memorial Hospital (a 900+ bed academic teaching, level one trauma center), Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital (a 50+ bed pediatric hospital), and Crestview Nursing Home (a 200+ bed skilled nursing facility). In addition, Wills has over 12 years of experience in public accounting with firms such as Price Waterhouse and Deloitte & Touche, serving clients in healthcare, not-for-profit and government as well as publicly traded companies
Wills is a 1990 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. In addition, Wills is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Vice President and COO
Angie Patterson is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for initiatives in survivorship, the workplace and in faith-based support as well as day-to-day operations of the Georgia Cancer Coalition. Prior to joining the Georgia Cancer Coalition, Ms. Patterson spent 17 years with BellSouth. She began her career at BellSouth in 1988 as a programmer. In 1993, Ms. Patterson became a Senior Systems Manager responsible for the retail and activations systems at BellSouth Cellular Corp. From 1997 – 2000, Ms. Patterson was the Director of the Billing Systems, Switch Interface, Fraud, Reporting and Financial Systems at BellSouth Cellular Corp. For the past 5 years, she was a Director in the BellSouth Information Technology organization.
Since 2002, Ms. Patterson has been very actively involved in many cancer volunteer organizations, such as the American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery program and Relay for Life. From 2002 – 2004, she was the President of the Network of Hope – a Breast Cancer Survivors' organization at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2002, Ms. Patterson was a Co-Founder of the BellSouth Life Counts Cancer Program, an innovative grass-roots program which provides an educational resource for persons diagnosed with cancer, and educates employees regarding cancer risks, prevention, and early detection. Ms. Patterson also chaired the Health Care team in the BellSouth Women's Networking Alliance since 2003.
Ms. Patterson received an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia.

Clinical & Research Program Advisor
Ms. Russell is highly regarded throughout the national cancer community for her many contributions. Most recently, Ms. Russell served as the Deputy to the Director and Associate Director for Planning and Administration at the Lombardi Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities during her 12-year tenure at Lombardi centered upon the day-to-day operational aspects of the center, including all clinical, research and grants administration. Prior to her work at Lombardi, Ms. Russell assumed progressively responsible senior leadership positions at the NCI. Ms. Russell served as Assistant Administrative Officer and Administrative Officer for the Clinical Oncology Program, Administrative Officer for the Biological Response Modifiers Program, and Deputy Administrative Officer for the Division of Cancer Treatment during her eight years with the NCI.
Ms. Russell has been a consulting advisor to several major organizations including the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, the City of Hope National Medical Center, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. In addition, she served as a member of numerous site visit teams for the NCI's Cancer Center Support Grant program and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Cancer Center Administrators Forum.
She has also made substantial contributions as a volunteer in the cancer community. She was a founder of Special Love, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing enriching programs to children with cancer, and The Children's Inn at NIH, a nonprofit that provides a family-centered residence for NIH pediatric patients and their families. Since their establishment, Ms. Russell served as president and board member of both organizations.
Public Relations Consultant
Judy Stanton is a seasoned healthcare public relations professional, with more than thirty years experience working to promote hospitals and health care organizations. She has served as president of both the Georgia and Florida Societies for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations as well as president of the South Florida Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
In Atlanta, she has worked with Northside Hospital managing special events and the major speakers program and as Associate Director of Public Relations for Shepherd Center. She has also consulted with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Wellness Community, and the Unlock the Waiting List Campaign. In South Florida, she was Public Relations Director for Mount Sinai Medical Center for twelve years.
Ms. Stanton has a B.A. in Journalism and an M.Ed. from the University of Florida.
Administrative Specialist
Melody B. Head is the Administrative Specialist for the Georgia Cancer Coalition. A native of Atlanta, she graduated from South Atlanta High School and continued her education at Clayton College and State University and Atlanta Technical College. She is currently studying at Atlanta Christian College, working towards a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in developmental psychology and biblical studies. Melody comes to the Coalition from Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, where she worked for five years as Executive/Team Administrative Assistant.
